The Pousada Sao Teotonio stands on the hill overlooking the old fortified area of Valenca near the Spanish border. This pousada has a magnificent view over mainland Spain, the River Minho and the ancient village walls. Its restaurant serves some of the best delicacies in the Minho region.
Nearby attractions to the Pousada Sao Teotonio include the Santa Maria dos Anjos Church (12th Century), Santo Estevão Church, Eirado House (15th Century), Misericórdia Chapel (18th Century), Monte de Faro, Brejoeira Palace, Sanfins, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Vilar de Mouros, Tuy Cathedral and town walls which surround a ruined fortress which is a piece of Gothic and Baroque Military Architecture. The first walls were built in the 13th century, and now it is a kind of bulwarked system, rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries.
