Marvão, a medieval town with narrow winding street and surrounding walls dating from the thirteenth. Two large village houses that have been comfortably converted into the Pousada de Marvao – Santa Maria and offer an exceptionally beautiful panorama from the reception areas and certain bedrooms.

The suites also have bathrobes and a safe. there is plenty to do for all the family in this area with golf and fishing nearby, a shooting range, country walks and a natural river pool in which to swim.
Interesting places to visit include Marvão Castle, the Municipal Museum, Espírito Santo Church, the Roman town of Anmaia, Castelo de Vide, Portalegre and the S. Mamede mountain range Natural Park.
There is a gourmet restaurant at the pousada Santa Maria offering local delicacies like lamb or goat, bread panada from Alentejo, bread panada with pork, spicy sausage and almond pudding.
