The Pousada de Beja – Sao Francisco is situated in a 13th century Franciscan Convent in the heart of the historical centre of the Alentejo town of Beja in Portugal.
The Pousada de Beja has retained many of its original features with an attractive square cloister surrounding the inner patio with a well providing water for the pousada, Gothic and Thumbs Chapels, Chapter Room and paintings from the XVII century that used to decorate some of the convent walls of the Convent. In 1994 is a Roman necropolis was discovered here.
The Pousada de Beja has 34 rooms and one suite which are fully air conditioned with a private bathroom complete with hairdryer and bathrobes, cable television, mini bar, internet access, direct dial telephone and an in room safe.
