The Pousada de Alvito – Castelo de Alvito is situated in an unusual fifteenth century castle which has been beautifully restored. It reflects the culture of the region with its atmosphere and traditional gastronomy and wines. What used to be the agricultural land of a medieval castle is now a superb garden room.
There are a number of fascinating places to visit in this area including the Misericódia Church, São Sebastião Chapel, ruins of S. Cucufate, Odivelas and Alvito Dams and the Viana do Alentejo
